Unlike most of you, I spent the ENTIRE weekend with my parents. That's right, kids...over 50 hours of pure family fun, most of which included multiple shopping trips, overflowing Crown and Gingers, 70's funk on repeat, a simple southern wedding, a funeral, Miss Priss' dance recital, a baseball game, too many laughs and of course, constant reminders of just how fabulous I really am. We kept referring to OUR weekend as "Vacation Weekend", and as we were grilling out last night, Crown and Ginger #12 in hand, I made it quite clear to my parents just how much I absolutely adore them. (and yes, tears were shed by all 3 parties.)

We don't get to have these weekends too often because they have their own social calendars (which are constantly filled!), and I have quite the social calendar to manage myself. However, I'm so glad we're still able to escape from it all for awhile and get down to what's truly important...family. We may not be a big one, but we make up for it in many other ways. My future husband sure will be one lucky guy, but I'm starting to wonder how I'll ever be able to share Momma and Daddy with someone else?!?

(Please notice the hand on hip pose. What can I say? She's got it.)
