25 years ago, the world didn't know what it was missing until this little bundle of joy

arrived! I was only 5 months old, but I'm pretty sure I did the "She's here! She's here! She's finally here!" dance in my diaper! You see, the odds of us being friends from the day we met was inevitable...our dads are best friends and we grew up 5 houses apart. Every childhood memory I can remember involves this girl, she's been right by my side from the get-go, making little boys cry and planning how one day WE WILL RULE THE WORLD. Fast forward 25 years and we're still making little boys cry and now, we do rule the world. One's greatest achievement in life is making and keeping great friends. We pride ourselves on telling everyone, including complete strangers, "Hey! Did you know we've been best friends since before we were born?" Around age 8, our other friends didn't quite grasp the concept, around age 18, our college friends gasped and exclaimed, "OMG! That is sooo sweet! So that's, like, really your BFF?!?", now, at age 25, everyone we tell takes a second to gather their thoughts and completely understands how amazing it really is. We knew all along, though. My heart bursts with joy everytime I hear those words. There's no other person in the world I would choose to share these memories with. This is the girl you want on your team..her laugh is contagious, her bubbly and outgoing personality is bound to rub off on you at some point, she's strong-willed and will not go down without a fight, she's compassionate and kind and is always there when you need her, she's beautiful inside and out, she's always looking for a good time and the good times always find her.

Last night post-workout, mid-gulp-of-red-wine she told me, "25 is going to be my year!" I laughed and completely agreed, while thinking to myself, "How can the next 25 years even compare to the past 25?" Happy, Happy Birthday to you, BB! Here's to 50 more years of being best friends, big laughs, breaking boy's hearts and birthday shots! xoxo!
